Sliding Scale

We all have different financial experiences. I offer a sliding scale to honor this reality.

I ask that my clients use these guidelines as they consider the rate they can afford, and that they commit to paying the highest affordable rate. I ask that folks share if their financial circumstances change (in either direction) such that we can make fee adjustments that feel workable and fair to us both.

  • $160

Consider this rate if you: own the home you live in; have access to generational wealth; have significant earning potential due to educational or racial privilege; have no challenges paying and/or have little debt; have access to out-of-network insurance benefits.

This is the true cost of therapy and helps make it possible for me to work with folks for whom the cost of therapy would be prohibitive.

  • $135

Consider this rate if paying $135 per session would be an investment but not a hardship. This may be true if you: regularly treat yourself to meals, new clothes, and outings; don’t have trouble covering the cost of your bills and debts; have access to a financial safety net; have access to out-of-network insurance benefits.

  • $85 - $100*

Consider this range if you: have limited expendable income; have limited access to a financial safety net; have significant debt; have little to no access to savings.

*Due to the difficulty folks of color often face in finding a therapist who meets their needs, this range is exclusively reserved for POC.
